Blue Peter Competitions

Blue Peter’s Amazing Authors competition 📚

Blue Peter’s Amazing Authors competition with The Reading Agency and BBC Arts is now finished, and we're so pleased to reveal Phoebe from Devon, who won the competition with her poem 'There's a Big Bad Wolf'!

Phoebe's winning entry has been turned into an animation by the legendary Aardman studios - the team behind shows like Shaun the Sheep and Wallace & Gromit and it even has orchestral music performed by the incredible BBC Philharmonic!

Watch Pheobe's animated story below, and if you missed her Winner's journey you can catch up with Blue Peter on CBBC iPlayer!

Phoebe had such an amazing time behind the scenes at Aardman seeing her story come to life. One of her favorite parts was having a go at drawing on their computers!

Another highlight was meeting Tom Fletcher, here's what Phoebe had to say; "It was so exciting meeting Tom Fletcher too, as I'm such a big fan, and hearing him read my story was so surreal! I've had such an amazing and magical time!"

Phoebe's a Blue Peter superfan, and already has her Blue, Green and Purple badges. Winning the Amazing Authors Competiton means she also becomes the proud owner of a Blue Peter competition winner's Orange badge! 🧡

Phoebe's poem as an animation

"I've always wanted to be an author and I can't believe that my story has been chosen to be made into a book and an animation - it's the best prize ever!" - Phoebe

Phoebe says she wants to be a writer when she grows up, and got to work behind the scenes with the Aardman animation team when they put her poem on to the big screen.

She used some of her acting skills for the main character - so the sighs and gasps you'll hear throughout are the author's own voice.

We're sure you'll agree, it was such an amazing experience!

Massive well done to everyone who entered, the level of entries was very high and you should be very proud to have taken part!

Blue Peter's Awesome Orbit Competition

Back in October last year, we launched our Awesome Orbit Competition with astronaut Tim Peak. We asked you to design an emblem showing how you think satellites could be used in the future.

We are over the moon to announce that the winner of Blue Peter's Awesome Orbit Competition is Bethany with her amazing 'Earth Sitter' design 🛰️

Bethany's winning design will be engraved onto an ACTUAL satellite and launched, via an ACTUAL rocket, into ACTUAL space!!

Bethany will also take a trip in a driverless car powered by a satellite, she will see behind the scenes at satellite testing facilities AND get the chance to control a Mars Rover here on Planet Earth.

✨ Congratulation to everyone who entered, you had so many wonderful ideas! From satellites that clean up the ocean to satellites that fight fires, your designs were so colourful, clever and creative, you deserve a big pat on the back - well done! ✨

Bethany's amazing space message

Take a look at Bethany's out of this world congratulation message from ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer, who has sent her an Orange competition winner badge FROM SPACE!

Mattias tells us about his mission as well as showing off his own Mission Patch design, which is called 'Cosmic Kiss'.

Check out Bethany's entry and our top two runner-ups

Did you know that the top 30 entries will be engraved onto the satellite which will be sent up into space and will orbit the Earth 15 times a day? How cool is that!? Even cooler... this will be the first-ever launch of a satellite here in the UK, so the top 30 entries are becoming part of history.
