Latest PostGood night!
It is indeed time to kick on, but if you're just joining us and missed some of today's games, why not head over here to read all of the reports and reaction?
This man had a good day.
See you all Sunday for four matches including Chelsea v Liverpool.
Big.
'We deserved three points'
Newcastle 0-0 Brighton
Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton manager Graham Potter, speaking to Sky: “I'm a bit frustrated. It is what it is. I thought our performance was really good. We had one cleared off the line and got into their box often.
"Andy Carroll came on and made things frantic at the end, but I'm delighted with the performance and felt we deserved three points.
"We need to maintain that and try and improve. We’ve been playing quite well. We’re disappointed with the points tally and disappointed with the result today.
"The players have got a resilience, character and organisation to defend the box when they need to. We’re lucky that we’ve got that foundation. They try their best every day, which away in the Premier League is not so easy to do."
On Steven Alzate's performance: "He’s been training with us since day one. I was tempted to put him in earlier but he’s been biding his time and settling in with the group. It’s not an easy place to make his debut, but he did really well."
'They played us off the park'
Newcastle 0-0 Brighton
Newcastle United
Newcastle midfielder Isaac Hayden, speaking to Sky: “With all due respect I think they played us off the park in the first half. We didn’t quite get it right, but in the second half we came out with a lot of spirit and courage and could have nicked it.
"They’ve changed their style a lot – it's a lot more possession based. They caught us out in the first half and we changed things a bit. We had a bit more of the ball in the second half. Allan [Saint-Maximin] and Andy [Carroll] lifted the crowd and changed the game.
"We haven't fared badly, considering everything that’s happened. There have been a lot of changes at the football club. There’s a lot of things going on behind the scenes. As players, we’ve done our job and done as best we can."
On Andy Carroll’s impact: "On his day, I don't think there’s many better than him. It’s just about getting him fit. He did very well when he came on. Hopefully we can get him firing."
On Schar’s second-half clearance: "We’ve had a couple of those down the years. It’s a close one but one that we’re thankful for."
'Now it's time to kick on'
Newcastle 0-0 Brighton
Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton midfielder Steven Alzate, speaking to Sky: “It was an amazing feeling to start. I’ve been in the team since pre-season so it wasn’t a big change.
“Now it’s time to kick on. I’m thankful for the opportunity and hope to get many more games.
“The boss told me to get as high as possible and be confident when I was on the ball, but also to be solid in defence.”
'It's a missed opportunity'
Newcastle 0-0 Brighton
Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton defender Lewis Dunk, speaking to Sky: "It's a missed opportunity. We dominated the whole game. They stuck Andy Carroll on late on, but we defended well. We need to punish teams when you have that many chances.
"It was frustrating today. We’re passing the ball well and dominating games, but we need to finish teams off and punish them.
"It's a big change. We’re still adapting. That’s probably the most we’ve dominated a game [since the start of the season]. Today showed how far we've come, to control games like that. We just need to score the goals.
"Hopefully we'll be in a more comfortable position at the end of the season. If we play like that, we’ll get there in the end."
'We got away with one'
Newcastle United
Newcastle manager Steve Bruce: "We found it very difficult. We knew Brighton would come and want to take the football and basically we couldn't get after it well enough. In the second half we changed a few things and if anyone was going to win the game I thought it would be us.
"The Achilles heel is that we have to take big chances when we get them.
"We couldn't wait to get them in at half time. We didn't deal with Brighton who kept the ball very well and they made it a difficult evening for us. We got away with one."
Firing blanks
Newcastle 0-0 Brighton
Can see the issue for Brighton can't you?
Brighton have failed to find the back of the net in 33 Premier League games since the start of 2017-18, the most of any ever-present side in that time.
Four of Brighton’s Premier League six games this season have been goalless at half-time, the most of any side in the division.

Tune in for that one at 22:30 BST on BBC One and online.

Newcasle midfielder Isaac Hayden says Brighton "Played us off the park in the first half".

Newcastle 0-0 Brighton
After winning five consecutive home Premier League games between January and March, Newcastle have only mustered one win in their last six at St. James’ Park (W1 D2 L3).
Post update
Still no post-match reaction to report on, though I can tell you that St James' emptied very efficiently indeed.
Post update
Newcastle 0-0 Brighton
These two sides are 17th and 15th in the table respectively. Fair reflection?
FULL-TIME
Newcastle 0-0 Brighton
Some jeers, a smattering of polite applause and then a bit of chanting greets the full-time whistle.
Newcastle looked aimless until the late introduction of Andy Carroll and Allan Saint-Maximin. If you want to watch this on MOTD I wouldn't bank on being this side of midnight.

Newcastle 0-0 Brighton
Lewis Dunk is landed on by both Dan Burn and Andy Carroll. Ooof. Play on.
