  1. Woburn giraffe named after Hollywood actor

A week-old rare giraffe calf at Woburn Safari Park has been named Sandy, after the actor Sandra Bullock.

The Rothschild’s giraffe species is endangered in the wild with only about 1,600 individuals remaining.

Viewers of ITV's This Morning were asked to vote for one of five "S" names - Sahara, Sandy, Sophie, Sakari and Simba - but due to a tie between Sandy and Sahara, presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield made the final decision to call her after the Hollywood actor due to her connection to the park.

The name was put forward for the competition by the actor herself, after she saw a photograph of the calf with her neck curved like an "S". Bullock is a friend of the Russell family at the park.

  2. Take That to play at Stadium MK

Take That are to play a concert at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes in 2019.

"We look forward to welcoming Take That and their legions of fans to Milton Keynes next May."

It's the second major concert announced for the stadium with Rod Stewart also performing there in June 2019.
