The Rothschild’s giraffe species is endangered in the wild with only about 1,600 individuals remaining.
Viewers of ITV's This Morning were asked to vote for one of five "S" names - Sahara, Sandy, Sophie, Sakari and Simba - but due to a tie between Sandy and Sahara, presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield made the final decision to call her after the Hollywood actor due to her connection to the park.
The name was put forward for the competition by the actor herself, after she saw a photograph of the calf with her neck curved like an "S". Bullock is a friend of the Russell family at the park.
