Anon: Atletico Madrid are doing the hokey Koke and the Super Cup is what it Saul about...

I suggest they remained Anon for a reason

  2. Post update

Atletico Madrid are the first Europa League winners to go on to win the Uefa Super Cup since they themselves did so against Chelsea in 2012.

Spanish teams have won nine of the last 10 tournaments.

Fish Hailu: Maybe this is the start of Atletico dominance. Not many teams will be scared of Real Madrid without Cristiano Ronaldo

  4. Post update

Diego Costa’s opening goal was the fastest goal ever to be scored in the Uefa Super Cup (49 seconds).

It was his first double in a club game since Chelsea v Southampton in the Premier League in April 2017.

  5. Post update

Sergio Ramos has now scored five goals against Atletico Madrid - only against Sevilla (six) has he scored more for Real Madrid.

All five goals were scored in cup competitions (Copa del Rey x2, Champions League x2, Uefa Super Cup x1).

  6. Post update

Real Madrid conceded four or more goals in a game for the first time since November 2015 against Barcelona in La Liga under Rafael Benitez - they never did so under Zinedine Zidane.

  7. Post update

Diego Godin, Atletico Madrid's new captain after Gabi's departure, gets the trophy and lifts it up as they celebrate another European trophy.

  8. Post update

Koke touches the trophy as he goes past. Atletico Madrid have played in this game three times - and won all three.

  9. Post update

Atletico Madrid go up to get their medals now. Filipe Luis, who didn't play one second today, is first up.

  10. Post update

The Real Madrid players go up for their runners-up/losers medals. They haven't experienced this in a while.

The match officials have already got their medals.

21savage_snack: well Real could be in for some tough years. Man United haven't recovered from losing Ronaldo and it's been 10 years already

Yousuf Ali: Why is everyone suggesting Hazard? Mbappe also deserves to play for Madrid.

Ayo Obit: ...and the countdown to Julen Lopetegui's sacking begins!

  12. Post update

Michael Keeping was an English manager, born in Milford on Sea.

I'm going to gamble that he's the only man to ever manage Real Madrid and Poole Town...

  13. Post update

As I said earlier, by making a different decision this summer, Julen Lopetegui could be a legendary Spain manager by now after winning the World Cup.

Having seen a bit of Spain under Lopetegui, I genuinely think they would have won had he been in charge.

    But instead...

  14. Post update

With all due respect, if you sell a player who has scored 450 goals in nine years, and don't replace him, you're going to be much worse.

Sam Johnson: Would it help if we all agreed now that we don't need live text for the presentation of the trophy? That's half an hour of fact we can all live without.

I hope this is Sam trying to let us go for a pint - and not just hating the live text

  16. FULL-TIME

It's all over - Atletico Madrid win the Uefa Super Cup.
