In the day's first game, South Africa moved top of Group B and eliminated Thailand with a dominant 113-run victory.

The Proteas' Lizelle Lee hit a superb century to help her side post a formidable 195-3 that Thailand never got close to chasing down.

Pakistan opener Javeria Khan: "It was more about the fielding - there are times bowlers can't execute their plans but fielders always have to stand up. We made a lot of mistakes and that was the real difference between the sides.

"England are a side if you give them anything loose, they won't let you off.

"It all comes down to nerves and mental toughness. We are a young bunch - I'm not giving any excuses, we have to stand up on these occasions. We will make more plans and come out stronger.

"The pitch was good to bat on but we weren't able to execute our shots in pressure moments, we chose the wrong shot. We would've been able to chase this down if we chose the right balls to hit and kept wickets in hand."

Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof has gone for x-rays on her thumb that she injured getting out playing that ramp shot.

More from Heather Knight: "There are still areas we can improve on. We went hard in the powerplay and it was nice to go in when there was a good score on the board.

"We would've liked more but the wicket was slow so that was just above par. We were good in the field, you can always get better, but that was good.

"We've got such depth in our batting line-up that's it's fine to lose wickets. We want to be positive, go hard and know we have the batters to make up for it down the order and that's how we'll get those big scores. Hopefully scoring those big scores we will us a World Cup."

England captain Heather Knight: "I'll be disappointed to leave this ground. I'm really pleased we got to that total and then we bowled really well.

"I thought one of the spinners would get player of the match - both Sarah Glenn and Sophie Ecclestone were excellent. We're happy to get another win on the board.

"I'm just enjoying batting a bit higher up the order, there is more chance to impact the game. The pitch was a bit slow and we struggled to find the boundary late on, so we knew 150+ was going to be a really good score.

"It'll be a slightly different venue in Sydney - we're expecting a slightly slower pitch to face West Indies' spinners on. We won't have much practice but in T20 cricket it's just about trying to keep the momentum going when you can."

Glenn and Ecclestone bowling in partnership was almost unplayable.

England have been phenomenal tonight. The only thing they can be disappointed with is the 17 wides they bowled. They could have kept Pakistan to around 80 otherwise.

hypocaust: Anya Shrubsole becomes the third woman take 100 T20I wickets, and is the fastest of the three (74 matches) to that mark.

Brunt starts with two wides down the leg side.

Pakistan need a whole lot more of those.

It would be nice to see Katherine finish with a wicket here, as she got a bit frustrated in that last over.
