  1. Goodbye!

What a final. What a fortnight. What a sport.

Unfortunately, it's time for me to bid you farewell after another phenomenal Wimbledon. I'll leave you with the full report as Novak Djokovic retains his title.

    See you next year!

    Djokovic wins
  2. Post update

And that is that from Djokovic. Unless you speak Serbian, which I don't...

  3. Post update

More from Djokovic: "It's hard to not be aware of that kind of electric atmosphere, especially in the decisive moments when we are quite even.

"If you have the majority of the crowd on your side, it helps. It gives you motivation and energy. When you don't, you have to find it within.

"When the crowd is chanting "Roger", I hear "Novak". I try to convince myself of that. It's mental training."

  4. Post update

More from Djokovic: "I always try to imagine myself as a winner. I think there is a power in that.

"It's a constant battle within, for me anyway, more than what happens [physically].

"I told myself to switch off from what was happening around us, and just be there, be present.

"I thought I could have played better, but one thing that allowed me to come back was the mental stability in those moments.

"You need to be constantly playing well for five hours to get through a match like this, but there is a self-belief too."

  5. Post update

More from Djokovic: "Playing against Roger on grass, well on any surface, is constant pressure.

"He is so talented. He has a perfect game for this surface, so I needed to bring some variety in play and be sharp when the opportunity was there. At times I was, and at times I wasn't.

"It's normal to expect that more nerves are in play because it's the Wimbledon final.

"I just tried to fight and find a way when it mattered the most."

  6. Post update

    Djokovic wins Wimbledon

Novak Djokovic, speaking to the press: "It was a huge relief in the end. This kind of match you work for and live for.

"One thing I promised myself coming onto court was that I needed to keep calm and composed because I knew the atmosphere would be what it was.

"It was probably the most mentally demanding match I have ever been part of.

"I am thrilled and overjoyed with emotions to be sitting here as a winner. I was one shot away from losing.

"This match could have gone either way and Roger served amazing throughout the match."

  7. Post update

Here he is. And in a fancy new jacket showing five tennis balls, representing his five Wimbledon titles.

The champ will be in front of the press shortly...

  12. 'Djokovic built consistency'

    Djokovic wins Wimbledon

    Tim Henman

Former British number one on BBC TV at Wimbledon

In the early stages of the first set Djokovic's first serve percentage was down in the low 40s, but as the match went on he was able to build that consistency.

Federer made errors in the tie break and again in the third and if you're making those errors you're in trouble.

Federer played a fantastic match and that will be the frustration. He got so close to the finish line. Not to finish it off is going to be massively disappointing.

He has to brush himself down. There's a lot more tennis still to come this year and with his fitness he can still go on to win titles in future.

  13. 'Federer an ambassador to all men!'

    Djokovic wins Wimbledon

    Boris Becker

Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

"All the compliments in the world to Roger Federer, for the performances over the past two weeks, showing he's still one of the top players in the world, and one point away from a record ninth Wimbledon title.

"He's an ambassador for all men, not just sportsmen, he's in great shape.

"We said before that the longer the match goes on, the better it would be for Djokovic. But Roger was as fit as a fiddle in the fifth set."

  16. Post update

More from Federer: "Playing so much on clay helped keep me match-fit and match-tough.

"I'm happy I played as good and felt as good as I did throughout the championships.

"Looking ahead, we had decided I would skip Montreal to give myself enough time off before preparing for Cincinnati.

"I don't know what I feel right now. It was such an incredible opportunity that I missed that I can't believe it, but it is what it is."

  17. Post update

More from Federer: "You take it on the chin, move on and try to forget. I will try to take the good things out of this match because there is tons of it.

"It hurts, like every loss at Wimbledon.

"But it's a mindset, and I'm very strong at moving on. I don't want to be depressed about losing an amazing tennis match."
