Blades boss Chris Wilder was not happy with his team after their first half performance against Norwich on Sunday. They responded with goals from Enda Stevens and George Baldock after the break.

"If there's a swear kitty I think it's into the 100s quite easily," Wilder said.

"We were too safe in the first half and allowed Norwich to dictate. We were more like Sheffield United in the second half."

Another team in impressive form is Wolves.

They drew against Brighton on Sunday and are now unbeaten in 11 Premier Leagues.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side have qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League too.

Their game against Besiktas this week will be their 30th of the season already.

Newcastle have concerns over the fitness of forward Allan Saint-Maximin following the game.

He left the ground on crutches after seeming to pick up a hamstring issue in stoppage time.

Bruce said he would "kick himself" if the injury was serious.

The Newcastle manager said it is "the downside of playing somebody tired".

Elsewhere in the Premier League on Sunday, Newcastle's good run under Steve Bruce continued as they came from behind to beat Southampton at St James' Park.

Federico Fernandez scored a late winner for the Magpies who are now up into the top half of the table.

They have won four of their past six games.

So should Jamie Vardy consider coming out of England retirement?

You'd think Gareth Southgate would want to be able to call on the Premier League's top scorer next summer in the Euros but Vardy effectively retired from international football in August 2018 after the World Cup.

"If you are talking about being deserving, he would be in it a long time ago," his club manager Brendan Rodgers said.

"It's his choice. I think he is enjoying his work at Leicester, he is enjoying his international break where he is able to rest. He is one who also knows that probably Harry Kane will play. He is the captain, he is going to play.

"He may as well enjoy his break while he can get it."

Vardy only needs to score in his next three league games to equal his Premier League record for goals in consecutive games.

The Man City manager says his side "might not be able to compete" with the best teams in Europe and have to "accept that reality".

That's Manchester City who have won the Premier League in the past two seasons.

"[Manchester] United have the quality to defend and the quality to attack on the counter-attack and you have to accept that," he said.

"That is the level we face against Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus. They are the teams we have to face and the reality is maybe we are not able now to compete with them.

"Maybe we need to live that as a club to improve, to accept the reality now and improve."
