Features a session from Dengue Dengue Dengue, who've just released their 'Fiebre' EP.
They are the Peruvian born, Berlin-based production duo of Felipe Salmon and Rafael Pereira, which began 2010 (ish).
In Peru, "having dengue" is a slang term for wanting to party! but DENGUE is also a traditional Cuban rhythm.
With previous projects landing on Buraka Som Sistema’s ENCHUFADA, On The Corner, the pair have this time partnered with NAAFI.
First meeting in Lima, due to circumstances the pair found themselves living together, it was at that time that they first started to experiment with co-production making 90’s UK dance-influenced tracks with loops and a battered PC.
After a period of exploration the guys started to look inwards to their own heritage for inspiration - including sounds of Latin America, they embarked on a tropical futurist excursion and heralded themselves Dengue Dengue Dengue in 2010.
On stage, to the backdrop of custom-made visuals, Pereira and Salmon obscure their faces with masks inspired in nature and geometry.
The masks are visions of the future as filtered through ancient memories—mythological creatures interpreted in fluorescent colors and angular, modern contours. It's a current that also runs through their music videos, which balance magical realism with sci-fi kitsch.
They've released 3 albums to date.
