Huawei boss Meng Wanzhou 'grateful' after US fraud charges dropped

A top executive in Chinese technology firm Huawei has thanked her supporters after a deal with prosecutors saw her US fraud charges dropped.

Meng Wanzhou, chief financial officer of Huawei, was detained in Canada in December 2018 at the request of the US.

On Friday, the US Department of Justice dropped an extradition request for her.

"I will never forget all the well wishes I received from all the people around the world," she said.
