  1. Liverpool 24 hours from the title?

    Sadio Mane

    Possibly.

They thumped Crystal Palace tonight and will be champions IF Pep Guardiola's Manchester City fail to win at Chelsea on Thursday night.

Chelsea have form for delivering the title of course in recent years...

    Jamie vardy party

    Join us for that one?

    Goodnight.

  2. Zaha - calf injury

    Liverpool 4-0 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

    Wilfred Zaha

More from Hodgson on Wilfried Zaha's injury: "It's a calf muscle strain. There were some discussions as to whether he should attempt to play but he was adamant it was something he could try to get away with. It became obvious he couldn't and we don't want him to be out for a long period. We don't have the squad numbers, the bodies when our players go down. We have four forwards competing for three places.

"It's been a great season so far and it can continue to be one. This was a great lesson we have to learn, there's always lessons to be learned.

"We won't write the game off, that would be a massive mistake. We have to suffer the disappointment of losing by four goals and we have to learn how to make certain it doesn't happen again."

  3. 'They are in incredible form'

    Liverpool 4-0 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

    Roy hodgson

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson speaking to Sky Sports: "We didn't need to make any excuses really but it's a Liverpool team in incredible form. They were so aggressive, so good in winning the ball back, we had no opportunities to put our foot on the ball and ask them some questions.

"It was very difficult for us. Up until the second goal I didn't think they were creating chances every time they attacked, they kept the ball a lot but we hadn't done enough to suggest we could score ourselves, so you know when they get the second and third you're staring down the barrel of heavy defeat."

  4. 'I don't think we'd have done better with a crowd'

    FT: Liverpool 4-0 Crystal Palace

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on BBC Radio 5 Live: "It was a brilliant game. If you are involved in this, if you are as close as I am to these boys then you can't be happier than I am. The way they played, the passion we showed was so exceptional, there was moments that I couldn't believe it.

"Especially after being 4-0 up and still showing it. That's important too, that's not doing it because we have to, it's doing it because we believe it's the right thing to do. On the pitch I don't think we'd have done better with a crowd, I don't think we can do better. I'm so happy that we showed that we do it for the people even when they're not really here. in this moment I am in a really good mood.

"Tonight was a big step, that's clear. We've all still got to play seven games, if we play like this it's really not nice to play against us. I have to watch the game tomorrow because we play them one week later. That's being professional and doing my job."

  5. 'The atmosphere on the pitch was incredible'

    FT: Liverpool 4-0 Crystal Palace

    Liverpool

    Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp told Sky Sports: "Imagine if this stadium would have been full today and all the people could have experienced it live. I don't think the game could have been better because my boys played like everybody was in the stadium. The atmosphere on the pitch was incredible. [Before the restart] I said I would like to see the best games behind closed doors ever because, hopefully, we won't have to see them again. That was the best counter-pressing game I have ever seen. Palace didn't change their approach but we felt free.

"We tried hard to tell the boys how good the Everton game was apart from the last third. Today was a reaction and I liked the game so much. 4-0 up in the 87th minute and four players chasing one Crystal Palace player like it's the only ball in the world, I like it so much, wonderful result and a wonderful game.

"The boys are in good shape and in a good mood and it was important we showed our supporters we are still here and we do not want to wait."

On Pep Guardiola saying Man City would make changes against Chelsea: "They are brilliant. Pep should play poker and the football they play is unbelievable. We are different and we have to be, but we are good as well. There are different ways of playing football and I like them both."

  6. Tune in!

    BBC One

Match of the Day is kicking off now. Might as well throw it on your TVs. Would be rude not to!

  7. Lukewarm Pogba?

FT: Manchester United 3-0 Sheffield United

    Mark Lawrenson

Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

    Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba is a wonderful player on his day but how many does he have? He can destroy teams but he's got to do it on a regular basis. Over the four years you would describe his performances as lukewarm which isn't good enough.

  8. 'One of our best performances of the season'

    FT: Liverpool 4-0 Crystal Palace

    Liverpool

    Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold talking to BBC Match of the Day: "Really good performance. There was a lot more rhythm and fluency than Sunday. We were disappointed, we never played the way we wanted to against Everton. Today we've come out and started fast and didn't really put a foot wrong in the whole game. It will go down as one of our best performances of the season. It was a special performance and I hope the fans enjoyed it."

On his goal: "I practice free-kicks a lot. I was happy with the way I struck it and it was one of them were you knew a soon as you hit it that it's got a chance and you look at where the keeper is and whether they have a chance."

On playing at behind closed doors at Anfield: "It was very different. We've had to create our own atmosphere in the team, with the tempo that we play at and the communication and the rhythm that we play at. Going into the game we wanted to make it horrible for the opponent and if they are going to get anything they'd have to work really hard."

On closing on the title: "We know we're in that position but we won't get overly excited. A lot of us will watch it tomorrow but not get too excited, we know Man City are a very good team. We've still got to prepare for the game next week regardless. We've still got seven games left I think and we're going to try and get all 21 points from those games."

  9. Play like there's people watching

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to Sky Sports: "My boys played like everyone was in the stadium. The atmosphere on the pitch was incredible. It was for sure the best counter-pressing game I have ever seen behind closed doors."

  10. 'We had to react and we did well'

    FT: Liverpool 4-0 Crystal Palace

    Liverpool

Liverpool forward Mo Salah told Sky Sports: "It was great to win like that and it was a great performance. All the players are motivated to win the league and we are motivated to play the best football behind closed doors."

On his goal: "I give him [Fabinho] all the credit, I just run the space and it was a great ball. To have a game like Everton can happen at any time, we were not in top shape but we had to react and we did well today."

On the chance to win the league: "I feel great and since I came here I said I wanted to win the Premier League. We haven't won for a long time. Last year we did great but we didn't win it."

  11. 'Wolves deserve a spot'

    FT: Wolves 1-0 Bournemouth

    John Murray

    BBC Radio 5 Live commentator

    Wolves

Wolves started extremely impressively at the weekend and they are one of the teams that have impressed me above most others this season. If they were to finish in the Champions League spots I would say they deserve it.

  12. Post update

    FT: Liverpool 4-0 Crystal Palace

    Mark Lawrenson

Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

    Minamino

I think Takumi Minamino will eventually end up playing where Roberto Firmino plays. On Sunday he kept running into the space where Firmino was, that's why they didn't play particularly well. But eventually, it's not going to happen while Firmino is around, he'll take that spot.

  13. 'It's in our hands'

    FT: Liverpool 4-0 Crystal Palace

    Liverpool

    Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports: "The lads have done really well. It was a difficult game and we were disappointed to only get the draw at Everton, but for the first game back at Anfield, it couldn't have gone any better."

On his goal: "I have been practising a lot and I had a few against Everton which I was disappointed not to score with, but it's always good to get the ball rolling for the boys."

On comparisons with David Beckham: "The comparisons with the best free-kick taker in Premier League history are very nice but there is a lot of work to do. It is quite close [the title] but we know a lot can happen in the Premier League. We have worked hard for this and this is what we have always dreamed of.

"We are in a good position so hopefully we can get over the line soon. We have to focus on ourselves, we are not hoping Man City drop points, we know it's our hands. We still have to go to City next week and get a result."

Abdul Karim: What a performance. Shame no fans were there to see it. But we felt it. Well played LFC. Wait is almost over. It's finally going to happen. Still can't believe it after so many near misses over the years. Get in!! Up the reds!

  15. Post update

    Fabinho

Liverpool extended their top-flight record to 23 consecutive home victories; the Reds have scored 67 goals in those 23 wins while conceding just 15 in reply.

  16. Post update

    FT: Liverpool 4-0 Crystal Palace

    Mark Lawrenson

Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

    Fabinho

Fabinho has been a good signing - it can take foreign players a while to settle. I can't really remember Jurgen Klopp buying anyone that hasn't really done it apart from Loris Karius.

Prime_Ribona: I'm almost in tears. Thirty years, slips, record-breaking second placed finishes, pandemics, seemingly everything in our way. Yet Liverpool are now just two points from winning the league for the first time in my life.
