  1. Post update

What a night it's been for the English teams in the Champions League.

Nine goals scored combined by Chelsea and Manchester United, along with two clean sheets. Job done.

Football is relentless so we're back again tomorrow for all the Europa League action - Tottenham, Arsenal, Leicester City, Rangers and Celtic all playing.

    See you then!

  2. 'A brilliant footballer and a brilliant person'

    Man Utd 5-0 RB Leipzig

    Chris Sutton

Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Rashford is already a top, top player. His finishing, his link up play, the threat he offers. He is a brilliant footballer and a brilliant person.

Manchester United looked much a better team when he came on.

  3. 'It was a bit crazy'

    Man Utd 5-0 RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann: "It was a bit crazy because after they scored the first goal we did well. The final 20 minutes were very bad.

On the first goal and whether it was offside: "We can defend it better, that's the more important topics for me as the manager.

"You can follow the deep run and then normally it's no trouble."

  4. 'We gave the best response to the turmoil'

    Juventus 0-2 Barcelona

    Barcelona

Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto: "The best response we could give to the turmoil at the club is a display like this.

"Everybody has been talking a lot but the team simply want to win games."

  5. Post update

    Man Utd 5-0 RB Leipzig

    Manchester United

More from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: "We made some changes today because of Sunday as you have to be ready for that. In the league you have a game less than other teams as well. We need to pick up points."

  6. Post update

Marcus Rashford is also the sixth player to score a Champions League hat-trick for Manchester United.

The other five? Not bad names...

    • Ruud van Nistelrooy
    • Wayne Rooney
    • Robin van Persie
    • Michael Owen
    • Andy Cole (twice)
  7. 'We had to dig deep'

    Man Utd 5-0 RB Leipzig

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær speaking to BT Sport: "Marcus Rashford came on and did well but the groundwork was there from the team, that's what you want that from the subs. What a shift they put in. Leipzig are a high press, the intensity, so we had to dig deep.

"We had to rest a few because the season is relentless, so we used the squad. This group is coming together. The more quality and spirit you have the more you get the performance."

On goalscorer Mason Greenwood: "Mason was so efficient in front of goal. He is a great finisher and I am very pleased with him. The timing of his run... It was a good pass back from Paul Pogba. I wasn't sure if he was on or off. There were some tight calls by the referee but we were on the lucky side today.

"You have to be [ruthless]. We played the semi-finalists in the Champions League from just a couple of months ago last week. You don't get too many chances. You might get one or two and then the space opens up for us. We did the hard work by then."

On Donny van de Beek: "Donny is a fantastic player and a fantastic boy. You see the work he puts down - both on and off the ball. He covers the ground and is so clever with his movement. I am very pleased."

  8. Like manager, like player

FT: Man Utd 5-0 RB Leipzig

Marcus Rashford became the first player to score a competitive hat-trick for Manchester United as a substitute since Ole Gunnar Solskjær in a 8-1 Premier League win at Nottingham Forest on 6 February, 1999.

  9. Post update

Feeding kids by day, scoring goals by night. A football to take home for his mum.

Mark: Marcus Rashford is a boss of a man and a boss of a player.

Lemmespeak: United's backbone has always been two upfront since the ancient days and today proves it.

SMS Message: It'll be ' Sir Marcus Rashford ' by Christmas at this rate! from Chris, Belfast

  11. Post update

FT: Man Utd 5-0 RB Leipzig

The most underwhelming answer in history from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Marcus Rashford.

He says: "He came on did well. You want that from the substitutes."

Then he goes on to praise the foundations set by the team who started...

    Come on Ole!

  12. 'Rashford is on fire'

FT: Man Utd 5-0 RB Leipzig

    Manchester United

More from former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand on BT Sport: "Marcus Rashford is on fire. It's like being in the playground with a sixth former against the younger boys and he just bullies everyone – too quick and too strong.

"He was head and shoulders above Leipzig. He made some defenders, who we were raving about before the game, look like schoolboys tonight."

  13. He's quite good as well

Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Zenit St Petersburg

    Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland has scored his 12th Champions League goal in his 10th appearance in the competition. Most goals in first 10 CL matches:

    • Haaland - 12
    • Simone Inzaghi - 9
    • Sadio Mane - 9
    • Harry Kane - 9
  14. 'Credit where it is due'

FT: Man Utd 5-0 RB Leipzig

    Chris Sutton

Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Credit where credit is due. Sensational in Paris last week and tonight absolutely brilliant. Solskjaer out thought and out smarted Julian Nagelsmann.

It has been a tough start for United but we have to give him credit when they play well and they have played well.

  15. Post update

    FT: Sevilla 1-0 Rennes

Sevilla have now set a new club European record of five successive home clean sheets.

  16. 'We looked dangerous throughout'

FT: Man Utd 5-0 RB Leipzig

    Manchester United

Manchester United hero Marcus Rashford speaking to BT Sport: "I think the manager wanted me to up the tempo. That for us means going forward. There was definitely spaces there. We got Bruno and Paul on the ball. We looked dangerous throughout and that we could score every time we went forward.

"It was a real team performance. The ones who started did well and the substitutes did well too. We can't ask for much more than that in terms of the attitude and the intent to go and kill the game off. It worked in our favour.

On Mason Greenwood: "Not surprising. He's a top player. He needs to keep his head down and keep working hard. He will be an unbelievable player for us."

On VAR for Rashford's first goal: "I thought I was in my own half so I was a bit confused when the flag went off. All we can do is wait and see when the ball is in the net. We have to work with VAR now, it's part of our game. The quicker we get used to it, the better."

Any discussion on the penalty? "A little bit, a little bit. I feel confident with Anthony taking them as well. So no problem.

"It's about the next game now so it's important for us to get three points."

Aleksandar Todorov: Marcus Rashford! What a player and a great human being. Absolutely world class performance and worthy of the match ball. Top class!

Sushant Shetty: What a performance ...what resilience ...amazing finishing.

Steev Yohan: Now that’s a proper ManUnited beating! Doubt Upamecano is linked anymore after what Rashford did in 20 mins.

  18. 'What an impact by Rashford'

FT: Man Utd 5-0 RB Leipzig

    Chris Sutton

Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Breathtaking display from United. Marcus Rashford with an absolutely stunning hat-trick. But all round United were good in all departments. Lepzig didn't create many opportunities, David de Gea had very little to do. What an impact when Rashford came on. United were comfortable before he came on but it was a really important win for Ole Gunnar Solskjær. Answering his critics once again.
