  1. Highlights: Wales fight back to draw against Switzerland

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

Missed any of today's action in Baku?

Fear not. Here are the highlights from Wales' draw with Switzerland.

  2. Moore 'loving every second' of Euros

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

    Kieffer Moore celebrates

Wales goal scorer Kieffer Moore said: "It's great personally, we'd have liked to win but we'll take a draw to put us in a good position.

"It's never good going a goal down but to get one back and see the game out is a big positive for us.

"It's tough out there, but it is what we expected, we've been here for a week now.

"Obviously this is a big occasion and I've loved every second of it."

  3. That's it for now

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

    Wales at full time

So that's it from us for Wales' first Euro 2020 game as they earned a result that keeps their hopes of progressing from Group A very much alive.

Kieffer Moore's goal and Danny Ward's excellent performance to cancel out Breel Embolo's opening goal justified two of the more contentious selection decisions made by Rob Page, but Switzerland's dominance for long periods will give Wales plenty to think about ahead of Wednesday's vital match against Turkey.

We will hand you back to our colleagues in Salford now, who will guide you through Denmark against Finland.

Thanks for following along with us, we will leave you with the key post match reaction. Let's do it all again in four days. See you then.

  4. Heart in mouth moment for Wales fans

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

  5. Post update

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

    Nathan Blake

Former Cardiff and Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

School report - could do better.

Not a brilliant performance - it was a bit worrying that we looked a bit leggy. I understand the heat, but it was the same for both teams.

We didn't perform anywhere near our best and at set-pieces we looked really suspect.

I don't think Aaron Ramsey was it his best. I don't think Gareth Bale was at his best.

We must do better if we want to progress in the tournament.

  6. Draw 'something to build on' - Ward

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

    Danny Ward catch

Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward said: "I was happy that we got something out of the game, the desire we have is our foundation.

"We've got another couple of tough games coming up but you don't want to start any tournament with a loss.

"Five years ago we managed to get a win but it was just important today not to lose.

"If we looked after the ball a bit better maybe we wouldn't have had to run about as much but it is something to build on.

"We watched the Turkey game last night and we will work towards that now."

  7. Post update

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

    Robbie Savage

    Ex-Wales midfielder on BBC One

I thought Wales showed good desire to get back in the game. I just thought they sat a little too deep over the course of the game.

It is a huge game now on Wednesday. The atmosphere in the stadium will be a lot different, there will be 25,000 or so Turkey fans here and that might drive Wales on as well. If they can win that I am sure they will go through.

  8. A heads up on an interesting stat

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

Kieffer Moore has scored four of his six goals in all competitions for Wales via headers, while three of Wales’ last four goals at the European Championships have been headers.

  9. Point 'feels like a win' - Page

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

    Rob Page

Wales manager Rob Page said: "We wanted a positive start and it feels like a win in the changing room, we had to dig deep at the end and we had a bit of lady luck.

"Turkey are a different opposition to what we've faced today, but we will have to be solid and well organised again.

"We had to compete defensively, but with the pace and quality we have in our team it always makes for an entertaining game.

"Dan James' replacement was for the good of the squad, he was out on his feet because of the work he put in up to that point.

"He was disappointed when he came off but it was all about the squad.

"Kieffer has been terrific at international and club level, he's got a great touch and his link up play is great.

"He's got all his attributes for a centre forward, he's given us the rewards today.

"Thankfully I was stood in the shade so it was easy for me, the players are going to struggle with the heat and we factored that into things.

"Italy have quality in abundance and we respect Turkey too, it's all about focusing on that now and we will be preparing for that test now.

"That's the foundations, if we need to dig in we will but we've proved we can play."

  10. Wales will use result 'as a springboard' - Bale

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

    Gareth Bale

Wales captain Gareth Bale said: "Both teams tried to play, it was a little bit tense, but it's not a bad result and we take the positives.

"We wanted to win the game, we had chances but so did they.

"When you go 1-0 down and you can crumble but we showed a lot of grit and character like always and we showed our class to fight back and get the goal.

"We worked very hard, it's hard in this heat, I'm proud of the boys.

"After the match we said we need to use this as a springboard.

"We now need to recover and move onto the next game."

  11. Group A

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

This is how Group A looks after the first matches of Euro 2020.

  12. Post update

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

    Ashley Williams

    Former Wales captain

There's no drama. We played a good team and we are all happy with a point. We knew before the tournament that we would have to beat Turkey.

  13. Post update

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

    Rob Phillips

    BBC Wales Football Correspondent

I don't think there's any debate over Kieffer Moore now, is there?

Turkey will be a different proposition. They will have the benefit of 30,000 or 40,000 fans in the stands.

Where Wales do have depth is on the flanks. Harry Wilson didn't feature today, David Brooks came off the bench.

The other thing is the defensive line. Mepham and Rodon were really exposed today. I do think defensively there are question marks.

They are not going to drop Gareth Bale or Aaron Ramsey.

  14. Post update

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

    Ashley Williams

    Former Wales captain

What bothered me in the second half was that we did not look as assured in our defending. Breel Embolo started to get a lot of joy. It is something we need to address before the Turkey game.

We can't allow teams to have that much good possession and put balls into our box.

  15. Post update

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

    Kevin Ratcliffe

Former Wales captain on BBC Radio Wales

We looked jaded. You would like to think that come Wednesday, there will be a number of changes.

If Gareth Bale wasn't Gareth Bale, I think he would have been taken off today.

  16. Post update

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

    Mark Hughes

Former Wales manager on BBC One

I think Switzerland just recognised the weakness we had in the middle of the box and they had the quality of delivery [for the goal].

  18. Post update

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

    Hal Robson-Kanu

    Wales international striker

Kieffer Moore was isolated for most of the game but it was a moment like that [where he scored] that we knew he could make a difference.

  19. Post update

    FT: Wales 1-1 Switzerland

    Kevin Ratcliffe

Former Wales captain on BBC Radio Wales

For 75 mins we weren't in the game - the poorest I have seen us for a long time.

I think we needed to make more substitutions.

I thought the two centre-backs struggled - they both got caught out a number of times.

Switzerland were by far the better side and we have got out of jail.

Gareth Bale did absolutely nothing. Can we not look at bringing Harry Wilson on for him, or David Brooks coming on for him, because I thought Daniel James caused a lot of problems?

Danny Ward has to be our man of the match, and it's a worry when your keeper is man of the match.
