It seems UKIP's police and crime commissioner candidate Sam Watts isn't that impressed with Tory rival Stephen Mold's win.

He finished third in the race behind Mr Mold and Labour's Kevin McKeever, but said the Conservative Party has such a core support in Northamptonshire it would have won "even if a donkey with a rosette had turned up".
He did row back slightly on his comments by adding that Mr Mold is a "very nice chap" and that a good turnout showed people "were engaged" with the election.

We've had a clarification on the number of votes won by police and crime commissioner winner, Stephen Mold.

It was earlier announced that he polled 58,452 votes, but that figure has now been revised to 58,175 - 54% of the vote.
It's still a solid victory, with nearest rival Kevin McKeever getting 49,161 votes after the second preference count - while 8,099 ballot papers were rejected during the second count.
Losing Labour PCC candidate 'proud' of the share vote his party achieved

Labour's Kevin McKeever, who came second to Conservative Stephen Mold in the police and crime commissioner election, told me he was "very pleased how the vote was spread".

Mr McKeever said the result was "at the top end of expectations" for his party and he was "proud" of what they had achieved.
He added that Northamptonshire was not quite a "true blue as some people think".

Northamptonshire is one of eight police forces investigating Conservative election expenses from the 2015 General Election.

The allegation is that hotel bills for the party's 'battle bus' activists, who were boosting campaigns in target seats, were not filed in as election expenses.
The forces will not say which constituencies they are investigating, but the claims which were first raised by the Daily Mirror and Channel 4 News named the Northampton North constituency won by Conservative Michael Ellis.

Conservative Mr Mold beat Labour's Kevin McKeever, with 57.5% of the vote (58,452), after the second preference votes of UKIP Sam Watts were counted.
UKIP police and crime commissioner candidate Sam Watts said his 24% of the vote was "very positive" despite it meaning he finished third behind Conservative Stephen Mold and Labour's Kevin McKeever.
