Oxford company switches on £16.9m stem cell therapy research
An Oxford University spin-off company says it is on the way to developing stem cell drugs which can treat cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, heart failure, macular degeneration and other major age-related conditions.
OxStem has raised £16.9million into its work to create drugs that switch on the body's natural method of regenerating and repairing cells.

NSPCC calls for 'urgent' action on child protection criticisms

Cowley Road stabbing - two further arrests
There have been a further two men arrested in connection with yesterday's stabbing just off the Cowley Road, Oxford.
An 18-year-old man and 19-year-old man, both from London, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The victim is in a stable condition and is now conscious, police say.
