West Yorkshire's weather: Showers easing, with some dry spells possible

As for tomorrow, a bright and dry morning with sunny spells. Turning cloudy later with a few scattered showers possible. Maximum temperature of about 18C (64F). Moderate southwest wind.
Teen killed in motorbike crash
A teenager has died after a road crash in South Kirkby.
The 19-year-old man was riding a motorbike which was heading along Broad Lane.
His bike was in collision with a grey Ford Focus going in the opposite direction in the incident at 15:00 on Monday.
It's believed the dead man may have been travelling behind another bike.
The first motorcycle did not stop after the incident.
Police had earlier received reports of bikes being ridden anti-socially and are now investigating if these were the same motorcycles.
A 17-year-old boy has since been arrested and been released on police bail.

Otley will be besieged by cycling fans later as the annual town centre races take place for the 31st time.
The town will be sealed off as competitors tackle a tough, one-point-four mile track, and this time it's the biggest-ever women's line-up.
Otley is the opening event of the Men's British Cycling Elite Circuit Race Series and the penultimate round of the Women's British Road Series.
Ahead of the race I spoke to Town Mayor, councillor Ian Jackson:
British National Party leaflets accuse 'misguided' Jo Cox
The far-right British National Party (BNP) has posted leaflets to people living near the West Yorkshire town where Labour MP Jo Cox was killed, accusing her of taking "misguided action" by "helping Muslims", the Commons has heard.

Labour's Paula Sherriff said the "horrendous" leaflets, which had gone to her constituents in Dewsbury, said Mrs Cox was wrong to help people who may go on to join Islamic State, also known as Isis.
Home Office Minister Karen Bradley committed to meeting Ms Sherriff to discuss the "utterly unacceptable" leaflets and to look at what "specific action" can be taken against the BNP.

Two war memorials in West Yorkshire to receive protected status from Historic England
Two war memorials in West Yorkshire are to receive protected status from Historic England.
Among the memorials being recognised today is one to the Bradford Pals in Princes Way, where a soldier and a sailor stand ready to attack. The second, to the Leeds Pals is also being "listed" - at Breary Banks in Healey near Batley.
Pedestrian crossings, cycle lanes and on street parking will be installed on Dewsbury Road after plans were approved by Leeds City Council’s executive board.

Figures from Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary were by far the highest in Yorkshire and among top in the whole of the country.

Jo Cox scheduled to ask question in parliament today

International Development Secretary Justine Greening began business in the House of Commons by paying tribute to the former MP Jo Cox, who was killed two weeks ago.
Ms Greening noted that Ms Cox was on the order paper to ask a question during today's session.
The House of Commons is a "much, much poorer place that we won't hear from her today", she said.

A public consultation on grouse shooting in parts of Bradford has been given the go-ahead, however a date is yet to be set.

Bradford Council held a meeting yesterday to discuss the renewal of the Ilkley Moor Management plan which currently allows the bloodsport to take place on land on the moors for up to eight days a year.
There are objections to the shooting but a document given to councillors argues the sport brings jobs and food to the area.

Queens Park Rangers sign defender Joel Lynch from Championship rivals Huddersfield Town for an undisclosed fee.
The 28-year-old centre-back, who made 40 appearances for the Terriers last season, has agreed a three-year deal with the R's.
"He offers us something a little bit different," QPR manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said.

This Friday marks the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, when nearly 60,000 British soldiers died on the first day.
Among the memorials being recognised today is one to the Bradford Pals in Princes Way, where a soldier and a sailor stand ready to attack. The second, to the Leeds Pals is also being "listed" - at Breary Banks in Healey near Batley.
Nicky Law joins Bradford City

Bradford City have re-signed midfielder Nicky Law on a two-year deal.
The 28-year-old, who previously had two spells on loan with the Bantams, will officially sign on 1 July after his contract with Rangers expires.
He spent three years with the Glasgow club, making 114 appearances, and helped them win promotion back to the top flight last season.

Memorials to war dead listed to mark Somme centenary
More than a dozen war memorials have received greater protected status to mark the centenary of the Battle of the Somme.
Seven memorials have been given newly protected status and eight have had their protection upgraded, Historic England said.
The Battle of the Somme began on 1 July 1916 and is considered to be one of the bloodiest in human history.
