  5. Minichiello wants names of Olympic cheats

    Olympic coach Toni Minichiello says he wants the names of the athletes that have tested positive for banned drugs.

    Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield's Andy Giddings, Minichiello says it's unfair on athletes who aren't cheating.

  6. Man charged following Darnall 'brawl'

    A 30-year-old man has been charged and remanded into custody following a serious assault on Staniforth Road, Darnall at the weekend.

    Liam Sharp, from the Woodthorpe area of Sheffield, appeared before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving causing serious injury.

    He has been remanded in custody to appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday 16 August.

  7. NHS assaults 'some of the country's worst' at South Yorkshire hospital

    Staff at a NHS trust in Yorkshire have experienced some of the highest increases in assaults anywhere in the country.

    Figures from Doncaster and Bassetlaw show the number of assaults went up four times since 2010.

    NHS Protect, the national body which collected the data, found staff were assaulted by the over-75s more than any other age group.

  8. Singing soprano superstar brings sunshine to Sheffield

    Hundreds of students are seeing their hard work pay off today as they graduate from the University of Sheffield.

    She told me how she's "beyond excited" and how her daughter has fallen in love with the city.

  9. Coffee now signed, sealed and delivered

    Fancy a cuppa at the old post office?

    The site in Fitzalan Square had been disused since 1999, but is now part of Sheffield Hallam University.

    The Grade 2 listed building has been refurbished to become an impressive new home for the Sheffield Institute of Art.

    The main cash hall is now open to the public.

  10. HS2 hold public meeting in Mexborough

    Officials from the HS2 rail project are meeting concerned residents in Mexborough to discuss the latest plans for the project which will take the high speed link through the town. 

    200 homes in Mexborough face demolition to make way for the new high speed rail.

  13. City centre road re-opens after lorry crash

    There's severe tram delays and queuing traffic after a lorry crash on West Street this afternoon closed the road.

    The road has since re-opened.

  15. Love football? Book your place for Football Heaven's managers special

    The live event, which will be broadcast from the Charles Street Theatre at the university's city campus, will feature the managers of our local clubs.

  16. HS2 reps meet residents to discuss route

    HS2 representatives run their first drop-in sessions in South Yorkshire since the proposed route of the line was significantly changed.

    The new route saw a proposed station in Meadowhall scrapped in favour of a stop in Sheffield city centre.

    A new housing estate in Mexborough could be bulldozed under the changes, and a public meeting was held on Monday night in opposition to the plans.

  18. People in shop 'lucky' to escape in Sheffield lorry crash
