Guernsey's emergency services say Les Merriennes has reopened after the crash earlier.

The road is clear and one person was taken to A&E with minor injuries.

Jersey's cricketers will be holding a training camp in Texas, ahead of their World League Division Four Tournament in Los Angeles, thanks to sponsorship from Jersey Post.

The island side will play five matches at the Los Angeles tournament against Oman, Bermuda, USA, Denmark and Italy, plus a play-off to determine the overall placings.

The top 2 teams in the tournament will be promoted to Division 3.

Chris Minty, CEO of the Jersey Cricket Board, said: "Without the support, it was unlikely that we would have been able to attend the warm up games in Houston next week which we think will be crucial to our overall performance.

"We have been in Division 4 tournaments before, but suffered relegation so we are hoping that the warm up games will be the preparation needed to be able to perform to a higher standard."

As part of the redefinition of the agreement between the States of Guernsey and Aurigny, the States of Alderney appear to want a route to London Gatwick. 

Currently flights from Alderney either fly to Guernsey or Southampton.

Jersey's bus company has won a national award for "Improvements to bus services" after a sharp rise in the number of journeys taken by bus.

In the past three years, the number of bus users has gone up by almost a third.

The States minister responsible, Deputy Eddie Noel, described it as a fantastic achievement.

A teacher has been found guilty of abusing her position of ‘power and trust’ by assaulting a four-year-old autistic boy while ‘angry and frustrated’, the Magistrate’s Court has found. This has been reported by the Jersey Evening Post.

Officers are directing the traffic, but if you can avoid the area.

A group of Polish islanders are setting up a group to help their countrymen integrate in Jersey and to promote links with the native population.

The idea for the "Polonica" association came about after a meeting in a pub attended by dozens of Polish islanders.

It's the brainchild of Micaeal Lipinski, who says the new members come from all walks of life.

Former Deputy Garry Collins - who was unsuccessful in last night's Vale by-election - has been appointed a Director for World Bowls.

He will be the regional director for Europe, working under the current President John Bell.

Business leaders are in Jersey to discuss how leadership might change in the future.

The 2016 Leadership Jersey Conference will hear from speakers including Sir David Henshaw, who was the Chief Executive of Liverpool City Council and a former adviser to a strategy unit at the UK Cabinet Office.

Any money that's left over from organising the conference will be donated to two local charities, Brighter Futures and Jersey Sea Cadets.

The company does not believe that the criticism is justified, and says the timing is "inappropriate".
