Weather: Early mist and fog, then outbreaks of rain

Quite foggy to start in some places, but this soon clearing as cloud and patchy rain and drizzle begin to break out during the morning with a high of 8C (46F).
Two men from Ipswich, aged 31 and 22, one man from Wickford, Essex, aged 19, one man from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, aged 23, and a teenage boy were arrested early this morning on suspicion of violent disorder, following incidents at the West Meadows travellers' site in Ipswich last night.
A 20-year-old man, also from Wickford, has been detained on suspicion of causing criminal damage.
Police were called just after 22:00 to reports that a number of properties were being damaged.
They say a number of officers will remain on the site, to offer reassurance to the community.

Weather: Drizzle tonight and rain tomorrow

A dry start to the night but it will turn cloudier with some patchy rain and drizzle spreading eastwards later. It’ll be mild and frost free with lows of 8C (46F).

Saturday will get off to a cloudy, misty and damp start with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle. During the afternoon some more persistent rain will move in from the west, turning heavy at times with highs of 14C (57F).

Jury sent home for the weekend in Theydon murder trial
The jury in the trial of a man accused of murdering his wife at their home in Theydon Bois has been sent home for the weekend.
The body of Maria Byrne, 34, was found burned inside the property in Morgan Crescent in February.
Darren Byrne, 39, of Morgan Crescent has denied murder and arson.
The judge at Chelmsford Crown Court sent jurors out just after lunchtime today to consider their verdict.
Deliberations will continue on Monday.
