A Tribe Called Quest's final album, recorded with late band member Phife Dawg, We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service topped the US chart earlier this week.
Now his widow has revealed we can expect more from the rapper, who died in March this year.
A street in Queens, New York City was co-named Malik ‘Phife Dawg’ Way at the weekend to honour the late musician.
During a press interview, Desha Head Taylor said Phife finished recording a new solo album before his death.
“His solo album will be out probably sometime during the first quarter of 2017. We’re working on it now," she said.
"He completed his entire solo album before he transitioned, so we’re excited about releasing that."
He has been outspoken in his criticism of sites which sell tickets at massively inflated prices.
"It was a new experience for sure ," he told Annie. "Its something that I feel quite passionate about and something that I hope will provoke some change for not only our fans but fans of live music in general.
Quote Message: I hope that me standing up and saying something will encourage other musicians to do the same because I feel like perhaps there's the fear of the unknown, like what happens if you say something about this massive beast that no-one's challenging.
I hope that me standing up and saying something will encourage other musicians to do the same because I feel like perhaps there's the fear of the unknown, like what happens if you say something about this massive beast that no-one's challenging.
"There's a lot of people with massive platforms that, if they used their voice, could really make a difference."
Well said, sir. Listen below.

The Volt and the Bolt are, respectively, hybrid and electric vehicles.
The singer added that cattle used for their leather in the cars' production were "branded on the face, electro-shocked, and beaten before they’re slaughtered and used to make leather interiors for car companies, including yours."

The owner of London super club Fabric, which has won a reprieve from closure after agreeing to some strict new drug and security rules, has called on future club patrons to take more responsibility for their actions.
The venue lost its licence after the death of a two clubbers from drugs, prompting a wave of protest from fans and DJs including Radio 1's Annie Mac and Pete Tong.
Earlier this week, it was announced it would re-open after negotiations with Islington Council.
The new rules include a ban on clubbers under the age of 19 and a lifetime ban for those caught with, or selling drugs inside the club.
