Armed police were seen on South View Road and residents were told to stay inside their homes.
South Yorkshire Police have confirmed they have arrested a man on suspicion of firearms offences in connection to a West Yorkshire Police incident last week.
Officers also say that there is no cause for concern now the man is in custody.

Police think the people in these CCTV images are linked to an assault which left a man with a broken jaw and broken nose.
Officers think the people in the images are from the Sheffield area because of their accents.
The assault happened outside Pizza Royal on Corporation Street in Chesterfield in March.
There's an appeal for help in identifying the man and woman.

Fourteen years for Huddersfield pervert who attacked officers
A man from Huddersfield is starting a 14 year prison sentence this afternoon after he was found in possession of indecent images and assaulted two police officers.

Christopher Hartley, 44 and from Fartown, was arrested last year in Cheshire on suspicion of possession of indecent images.
While he was handcuffed and in custody in the police vehicle he attacked the police officers. Both officers are still receiving medical treatment and one has been left with permanent damage.
Both officers have since returned to work. Hartley was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court today.

Methodist minister John Price 'hypnotised boys before sex attacks'
The Reverend John Price allegedly told his victims the hypnosis was to help them relax, before he carried out the abuse, Teesside Crown Court was told.
The defendant is accused of carrying out the attacks on two youths in the 1970s and 80s.
Mr Price, 82, of Ash Tree Close, Bedale, North Yorkshire, who is now retired, denies 14 counts of indecent assault on boys aged between 11 and 17.

Refurbishment of St. George's Hall will 'start soon'
We're being told long-awaited refurbishment work at St George's Hall in Bradford will start soon.
Sources say it should be completed by the end of next year after the hiring of a contractor to do the work.
Concerns were raised last month by opposition councillors on Bradford Council about how long the work is taking.
Rotherham striker commits to relegated club with one-year deal
Striker Jonson Clarke-Harris has agreed a new one-year deal with Rotherham United.
The 22-year-old suffered a serious knee injury in a friendly last July but returned to play a part in the Millers' final seven Championship games.
He is the first out-of-contract player to commit to Rotherham, who will play in League One next season.
"A fit Clarke-Harris is a handful against anyone," boss Paul Warne told the club's website.
